Reality TV: The Compromise

Reality TV. I love it. I love that they show them in marathons on the weekends and that it makes me feel so much better about myself and/or my relationship. For some strange reason, I've started wanting to watch The Bachelorette this season. Probably because Andi is from Georgia and she's pretty awesome. But, Marriage Bootcamp is by far my favorite show, and the new season starts this Friday! Only I can't watch them in real time with everyone else.

My husband hates reality TV with a passion. I generally avoid it when he's home, because he'll either fall asleep or grumble the entire time. Marriage Bootcamp usually isn't a problem, they air the episodes again on the weekends. It's The Bachelorette we argued about Monday evening. We don't have a DVR (shocker, I know) so, after I threw a huge tantrum complete with stomping and door slamming, I compromised and agreed to watch it online Tuesday mornings. It's not quite the same, but I'm doing it anyways.

If reality TV (and what to have for dinner) is all we argue about, I think we're doing pretty good.

Do you watch reality TV? What are you favorite shows?

  1. I can't live without reality tv. I love all the Housewives (except NY), Real World/Challenges, Long Island Medium, Bachelor (Bachelorette is too boring for me, I like the drama of the 25 girls!). But my fave - Big Brother! Can't wait for next month.

PS I'm adding Marriage Bootcamp to my DVR now!

  2. I still love the Real World challenges on MTV - I have no idea why!

  3. I prefer the cooking shows like MasterChef, Top Chef, Hells Kitchen. I just love them.
